UPCOMING WORSHIP EVENTS

Winter 2014/Spring 2015

The new year begins the Winter/Spring worship schedule, with Sunday School for both adults and children beginning at 9:00am. Worship services begin at 10:30am. The Albright and Zion Choirs alternate singing traditional (Albright) and gospel (Zion) anthems each Sunday through mid May. 10:30am services run through Memorial Day weekend May 31, 2015.

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday February 18, 2015, the beginning of Passion Week commemorating Palm Sunday on March 29; Maunday Thursday when Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples and instituted the Sacrament of Holy Communion; Good Friday when Jesus gave himself as the ultimate sacrifice for all of mankind. Passion Week ends with the culmination of Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday April 8th. What a glorious morning that must have been in those times, when Mary went to the tomb and found the tomb empty with an angel telling her that "Christ Is Risen!". The ultimate sacrifice given for us, to save us from ourselves, hell and damnation. We glorify God, fall on our knees, praising and singing his holy name. Summer 2015

Summer months start with the longest daylight time of the year, which means we will have  more time for outside activities, fun and play. However, these engagements should never lead us to forget the Lord, who daily cares and sustains us and helps us succeed in life. Our scores of other activities should not hiunder us from putting our Lord first in everything and wroship him with full reverence for all that he has done in our lives.

We start worship in June with remembering our Lord's Ascension, an occasion when Jesus said goodbye to hos followes here on earth. Saying goodbye was not easy for him since he cared about his people so much. When consoling his worried disciples he clearly assured them the gift of the Holy Spirit to be with them all the time - to lead, guide, protect and to save them from all dangers in life. The empowerment of the Holy Spirit was exactly what the disciples needed in that time; no doubt, we are also in need of the same. In Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit.

Beginning in June our summer worship schedule changes to 9:30am and will continue until the end of August. Just as Sunday School and Adult Bible study take off in summer, our choir groups do the same. Replacing this vacuum of music, however, is our Praise In Worship which is celebrated on the second Sunday of EVERY month.
